Beamer SmartApplet allows Neo users to use infrared beaming to exchange text files with each other and with users of other infraredenabled devices, including Dana and Palm OS devices. Beamer users can receive text from Palm OS Date Book, Address Book, and Memo Pad applications. They can also exchange AlphaWord™/AlphaWord Plus documents with Dana users, allowing teachers to extend group-writing activities and collaborative learning to all AlphaSmart device users. Beamer SmartApplet requires no cables, cradles, pods, or other hardware components, and uses industry-standard IrDA technology, so you'll never have to worry about data loss or file corruption.

Beamed files can be received and saved in any file the user chooses.
